We all do our best to cope with the ongoing problems and stressors in our lives. Sometimes we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, alone, anxious, or just stuck. We may feel unclear about how to create the life we want and unsure how to feel better. With a collaborative and strengths-based approach, we will work together to develop a greater understanding of what contributes to your present challenges, while also building an attainable vision for the future.
Starting therapy can bring about a mix of emotions, ranging from excitement to feelings of unease and ambivalence. However you show up, I will welcome you into a warm supportive space where we can focus on improving your self confidence, gaining meaningful insights, and finding a renewed sense of purpose. Compassion and curiosity are the guiding forces in my therapeutic approach. I bring my genuine self into the therapy room, engaging actively, using humor, and embracing the messy and uncertain. My greatest joy is in helping clients to find their own way.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1991 and my Master’s degree in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in 2011. For well over 15 years, I have provided counseling and crisis services to adults with wide ranging issues and diagnoses, including Trauma/PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, Addiction, Grief and Loss, Parenting struggles and Relationship challenges. While I’ve been trained in various therapeutic modalities, I currently incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Ego State Therapy in my practice. I’m glad you’re here and I hope we can work together.
Please refer to the insurance tab to see which plans I currently accept. My self pay fee is $130 per session and $160 for the initial assessment.
