I believe in a holistic approach to mental health. I take into account the entire individual and state of mental health. There are many ways for individuals to target specific issues with natural techniques that, once learned, can be utilized over a lifespan when needed and allow us control our own progress and wellness. For example, making changes in diet and exercise help improve not only our mental health but all other aspects of our lives.
I am cognitive behavioral in my approach but believe that a foundation must be built with a collaborative relationship. Once this foundation is established, together we can explore what path is best suited for your particular goals. Some techniques work best for certain populations, and some techniques have shown to work well with particular issues. We will work together to discover the proper plan based on each individual’s unique experiences and needs.
My education, employment, and life experiences have given me an array of tools in which to share with my clients. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology with a minor in Math, and my master’s is in Clinical Psychology. I have also spent 12 years working in sales and management for a Fortune 50 company. I know firsthand the stresses we face in a fast-paced work environment and have extensive experience in hiring, staffing, and career development. I am happy to help in those areas of life that cause you strain and am here for career counseling, as well. I primarily work with adults and adolescents. I look forward to helping the Austin community strive to reach their potential and discover the strength and knowledge within.
