Employee Spotlight: Melissa Maldonado

Meet Melissa Maldonado, Round Rock Office Manager. Melissa started her Counselors of Texas career two years ago and has a bright future ahead.

It’s tough to put into words Melissa’s importance, but the reason we’re featuring her on our blog this month is to showcase our appreciation for her efforts.

Melissa has quite the reputation amongst employees who know her well and is equally popular among our clients.

She makes sure the office is running and that the counselors have all the support they need to do their jobs efficiently. She often goes above and beyond, sometimes taking care of appointment issues on her cell phone while traveling or coming in on weekends to get caught up on filing medical bills. She has a genuine interest that all our clients and therapists are taken care of and ensures that the tasks that need to be completed are completed.

Melissa a.k.a. Mel is one of the first people a new client of Counselors of Texas meets when they are calling to make their first appointment, and she represents us well. She is compassionate, professional, and has great humor that helps release tension when needed.

There are countless situations when Mel has gone the extra mile, and often we find Mel is brainstorming for ideas about how Counselors of Texas can work better to serve the local community and she is even willing to initiate them. One of her most recent ideas was pro-actively working with the local schools offering counseling in the aftermath of the Parkland shooting to help school children cope with anxieties they may have.

When we asked her about why she loves working with us and so often goes the extra mile, she smiled and said: “A person who is appreciated will always do more than what is expected!”

At Counselors of Texas, we also go the extra mile for all our clients. Over the past twenty years, we have impacted the lives of thousands of people by providing individual psychotherapy, marriage and family counseling, psychological testing and evaluations, group therapy, and much more.
